Catriona Le May Doan has done what no other Canadian athlete has ever accomplished—she won an Olympic gold medal and then successfully defended her Olympic Gold title.
This two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and five-time World Champion is one of Canada’s most successful and highly decorated athletes. She is the first and only Canadian individual to defend a gold medal at any Olympic Games. A part of the Vancouver Olympic 2010 bid team, Catriona spent three years on the Board of Directors. During the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics she joined Brian Williams and Lloyd Robertson in the broadcast booth as co-Host of the opening ceremony and also served as analyst for long-track speed skating alongside Rod Smith.
Twenty-three years in the sport of speed skating has taught Catriona a great deal. She shares the strategies and tactics that she applied to her sport, as well as insights on achieving goals and the process during which one experiences trials and triumphs.
Catriona's story is an inspiration, and her ability to explore with audiences the method of achieving personal excellence while challenging and motivating people to achieve their full potential is unmatched. |
