ITE Meetings and Events during TRB

Security Policies at the Convention Center

  • Anyone wearing a TRB Annual Meeting registration badge will be permitted to enter the building during the times that the building is open. If your attendees already have a TRB badge, they’re all set.
  • Anyone who is not wearing a TRB Annual Meeting registration badge, may be stopped by the convention center security. If they indicate an intention to register, and if registration is open, they will be permitted to proceed directly to TRB registration on the L Street Bridge, where they can register and get a badge.
  • If one of your attendees is stopped, and indicates that they are going to your event (but not necessarily to TRB registration) and if they know the name of the event and the room location, they will be permitted to proceed directly to your event.  However, once they arrive at your event, you will need to provide them with a sticker or other temporary ID that identifies them as an attendee at your event. This will ensure that they will not be stopped again by security if they leave your event to go to the restrooms, or anywhere else in the building.
