Women in ITE (WITE) 2025 Boot Camp #1: Interpersonal Effectiveness Tools

When: March 27, 2025 | 2:00 - 3:30 PM ET

This webinar is led by the Women in ITE Committee.

Webinar Description:

In both professional and personal settings, conflicts arise when what we want differs from what others want. High-stakes situations could muddle our thought process and can make it difficult to communicate effectively, leading to frustration.

This webinar introduces a structured approach to assertive communication, the DEARMAN technique. The seven specific tools (D.E.A.R.M.A.N) will help master interpersonal skills needed to communicate objectively with your goal in mind. By mastering this evidence-based method, you’ll be able to prepare effectively for difficult conversations, approach them with confidence, and achieve positive outcomes while preserving relationships.

In this webinar, participants will learn to apply DEARMAN to conflict resolution, through real-life scenarios and interactive discussions. You'll also receive a practical worksheet to help prepare for future challenging conversations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the DEARMAN framework and its role in effective communication.
  • Learn how to assert needs clearly while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Discuss applying DEARMAN framework in real-world scenarios.
  • Gain confidence in handling difficult conversations using structured techniques.
