Bicycle Signal Inventory Database

The Bicycle Technical Committee of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices prepared a list of agencies and locations where bicycle signals were existing or nearing construction. The list was initially assembled to monitor the growth of use of bicycle traffic signal indications and show the need for guidance in their use.

Portland State University (PSU) obtained and expanded the list to include design-level detail in conjunction with their 2019 Report, Road User Understanding of Bicycle Signal Faces on Traffic Signals (NCHRP Web-Only Document 273). The current database can be reviewed at the link to the PSU study here: http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~monserec/bicycle_signals.htm. Additional contributions to the list are currently welcome at the study website.
